Fugazi—Ex-Spectator (Instrumental)
I was listening to “Ex-Spectator” and started thinking that without vocals, it would be great post-rock, the way it builds up to that crash I’m used to hearing in Explosions In The Sky tracks. So I looked to see if there were any instrumental versions of it, and to my surprise, found 3 shows that mentioned instrumental “Ex-Spectator” for download on Dischord.
7 mins and $5 later, I had downloaded the Hamburg ‘99 show. Like in some beautiful digital music fairy tale, I only had to wish for this track to exist, and the mp3 was already on my desktop. It was wonderful.
Oh, and EITS opened for Fugazi once.

This is all fascinating, but above all, Ex-Spectator indeed makes a damn good instrumental.
